My Japan Diary: Konnichiwa!

Whew, what a long day! And our day isn't even over yet because it's only 7pm here in Tokyo. Started out at 8am when our limo was half an hour early. I had barely brushed my teeth before we were out the door and on the road. He said he needed to get gas en route to the airport, so we drove from Don Mills/Lawrence all the way to Bayview/Eglinton to get $31 (25L) of gas... WTF?! I don't see what was so urgent about getting gas, but c'est la vie. We took Eglinton all the way to the Allen. Still made it to the airport just after 9am though.

Our flight was uneventful. So now 17 hours later, we've made it to our hotel in Shinagawa! We're staying just southwest of Tokyo (I think we're technically still within the greater Tokyo area) in Shinagawa at the Grand Prince New Takanawa Hotel. Our flight was good, but VERY long. Were 50mins late taking off because of the lovely Toronto weather, we had to be de-iced before we could take off. 13hour flight, I watched a grand total of 5 movies (The Fighter, Burlesque, The A-Team, Unstoppable, and Due Date) and some tv. They fed us 3 full meals on board, it was crazy, I felt like I didn't stop eating the whole flight considering we did nothing but sit there. "Lunch" was a cup-a-noodle and sandwich, LOL.

Just taking a quick shower then heading out to find some food. Dad has already peeked in some of the windows at some of their displays, oishiiiii (delicious)!! Our hotel room has a tiny hot water pot and Japanese tea cups in it, we brought our own ocha (green tea) but there's complimentary tea as well. Love it already!

Having some trouble uploading my photos to the web, half my webpages are coming up in Japanese and the other half won't load at all so I'm stumped at the moment. Will try again later!! In the meantime, sayonara!
