This is going to sound silly considering we're in Tokyo and those of you who are reading this are home in Canada, but we've been mostly relying on international news stations for our local coverage because all of the news here in Tokyo is entirely in Japanese. Watching people's reactions back home was hard because we know we're ok here but I can't imagine how hard it must be to be the one waiting by the phone.
Wanted to share some of the interviews for anyone who hasn't seen them (which by the sounds of it isn't many of you), big hugs to my Mom for staying so strong and for being the main point of contact for everyone trying to get in touch with us.

ReplyDeleteHi Kristin,
ReplyDeleteRoy and I are so relieved that you and your father are O.K. We were stunned at the pictures of the devastation caused by the tsunami and feel the pain of those whose family members and friends have lost homes and loved ones. Dawna sent me your blog link and we've been keeping current through your eyes and words. Love to you and Marty Stay safe. Love, Auntie Mary
Hi Kristin and Marty! Soooooo happy to hear you're safe and continuing your journey. Your Mom has been awesome - strong! I know you're not going to be able to get out of the huge hug that is waiting for you when you get back. Everyone i've talked to is donating and gathering supplies to donate - the entire world is reaching out. Again - just sooooooo happy to hear you're both safe.
